How to use this case study
All five Dyson purifiers sold in India — the HushJet™ Purifier Compact (HJ10), Purifier Cool PC1 (TP11), Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 (HP11), Purifier Big+Quiet (BP02) and Purifier Hot+Cool HP2 De-NOx (HP12) — have been evaluated using the interactive Buying Checklist tool. Final scores: HJ10 11/14, the other four 12/14 each.
Dyson sells five purifiers in India at the time of writing, from the ₹29,900 HushJet Compact to the ₹68,900 Big+Quiet. This walkthrough runs all five through the checklist side by side, because none of them can be compared on CADR: Dyson publishes no CADR figure for any machine and tests to its own whole-room POLAR methodology instead. A note on the veto: our checklist normally treats a missing OEM CADR as a hard veto, because you cannot size a machine at 5 ACH without it. We do not apply that veto to Dyson. A different published test method is not the same as no published data, so Dyson machines are scored on everything else and simply left out of any CADR-based ranking.

What we're looking at
Five machines, one brand. The Dyson HushJet™ Purifier Compact (HJ10) launched in India in early 2026 at ₹29,900 in Black/Teal or White/Silver (down from ₹34,900; same machine, different finish). Above it sit the Purifier Cool PC1 (TP11, ₹39,900), the Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 (HP11, ₹56,900), the Purifier Big+Quiet (BP02, ₹68,900) and the Purifier Hot+Cool HP2 De-NOx (HP12, ₹68,900). The HushJet is the only purification-only unit; the other four are fans or heaters that also filter.
The key difference between the HushJet and the rest of the range is the filter. The towers and the Big+Quiet use a sealed HEPA H13 combi cartridge with activated carbon, purely mechanical, holding efficiency throughout its life. The HushJet uses a 360° electrostatic HEPA filter instead, combining an electrical charge with mechanical filtration, with carbon in a separate cylinder that can be replaced independently.
The two are not quoted against the same yardstick: Dyson cites EN 1822 (DEHS oil challenge) for the sealed H13 machines, while the HushJet's 99.97% at 0.3 μm figure comes from a whole-machine test to IEST-RP-CC001.7 in an ASTM F3150 chamber, with no HEPA class printed. Our guide to filter test standards explains why that matters. They also behave differently over time: electrostatic media can lose part of its charge component with age and humidity. The HushJet also gets a new quieter air projection system, hence the name. Whether those trade-offs make sense for typical homes in India is one of the things we wanted to understand.

The rest of the Dyson range in India
The HushJet is the cheapest and the only purification-only machine. The other four are fans or heaters that also filter, which is where a large part of the price goes. All five carry activated carbon, none uses an ioniser or UV-C, and none publishes a CADR figure, so the comparison below is on price, form factor, filtration and published noise only.

For bedrooms, the HushJet is the only one of the five with a published sub-30 dB sleep figure. The tower models are noticeably louder at their top speeds, which matters if you intend to run them overnight. All five appear in our Find an Air Purifier database, shown without a CADR verdict.

The checklist scorecard
The same scoring sheet used by the interactive buying checklist and our Find an Air Purifier tool. Scores start at 0 and run to 14 (an optional in-stock point takes the tool's sheet to 15). Vetoes are applied first: no numeric OEM CADR, "HEPA-type" labelling, no carbon filter, or an ioniser / UV-C as the extra cleaning technology means do not buy, and the machine is not scored at all.

The CADR criterion (5 points on the standard sheet) is not applied to Dyson, which publishes no CADR for any model and tests to its own whole-room POLAR methodology. Scores are therefore out of 14 and cannot be compared directly with the out-of-19 scores in our other case studies.

Our read on the scores
All five are scored out of 14 rather than 19, because the CADR criterion does not apply to a brand that tests to a different method. The scores land close together, which is the honest result: the range shares its filtration approach, its warranty, its app and its service model, so what separates the machines is form factor and price, not air-cleaning credentials you can verify.
The HushJet's single point of difference is noise: 24 dB in sleep mode and 41 dB at maximum, the only published sub-30 dB figure in the range. It loses two points for an unprinted HEPA grade and a colour band instead of a numeric PM2.5 reading. The four larger machines gain those two points back but lose them again on noise, where Dyson publishes only maximum figures (61.4 dB for the Purifier Cool, 56 dB for Big+Quiet) and nothing at all for the heater models.
Price does not follow the score. A 12 out of 14 on the ₹68,900 Big+Quiet buys you a heater or a larger footprint, not measurably cleaner air on paper. On sizing, treat every coverage headline with care: Dyson's own footnotes tie them to 1 ACH. There is no honest conversion from POLAR results to a 5 ACH room size, so pick for the room you will actually use it in. If you want a purifier you can size arithmetically, choose one that publishes CADR; if you want this form factor and this noise level, the HushJet is the sensible entry point in the range.
The coverage claims (1 ACH, not 5 ACH)
Dyson's footnote on dyson.in confirms the 1,076 sq.ft. figure for the HushJet is based on 1 ACH, one complete air change per hour. Dyson quotes the same 1,076 sq.ft. headline for the Big+Quiet, also on a 1 ACH basis. For high-pollution Indian cities we size at 5 ACH, so a room that size would need roughly five times the clean-air delivery these claims imply. Dyson's POLAR results cannot be converted into a CADR figure for any of the five, so use our ACH calculator on your actual room to understand the target, then judge the machine on the room you will use it in.
Our take
Buy on form factor and noise, not on the score
Across the five machines the scores sit between 11 and 12 out of 14, so the checklist does not separate them meaningfully. The HushJet is the cheapest, the quietest on paper and the only purification-only unit; the towers add a fan, a heater or a numeric display for two to four times the money. What every one of them gives up is arithmetic certainty: with no CADR you cannot size any of them at 5 ACH, and the coverage headlines are 1 ACH numbers. Filter pricing is still missing for the HushJet and HP12, which leaves their 3-year cost open.
